Back to Melaka

Been a long time since I had been to Melaka. Finally got some time to visit this historical state, for those who are not familiar with Melaka, it used to be an English Straits Settlement during the colonial periods like Penang and Singapore. It had also been colonised by the Portugese, then by the Dutch and finally by the English.

The multi-racial community in Melaka is a closely knit family, here you see an Indian boy playing in front of a Chinese Temple while a Chinese lady look on

The most prominent landmark in Melaka is the Christ Church which was construsted in 1753 by the Portuguese, then converted by the Dutch after their conquest

Here is a group of retired ladies dancing to the tunes of the golden oldies in one of their community halls, it is open for all to join regardless of age or race

And with that, ends the tour of Melaka. I take my opportunity here to wish all my Muslim friends and viewers a Selamat Hari Raya!
