UMa Contemporary Dance Showcase 2014 – Part 2

The dance majors also dance in this showcase, and in so doing are exposed to new possibilities, given that the works being staged are by their lecturers and alumni of the program. Thus establishing a tradition that they can someday be creating a work for UMa Dance Company.

One of UM’s brightest graduates is Syaffiq Hambali, best male dancer awardee at Short and Sweet Dance 2012, creating a work inspired by L.A. choreographer Kyle Hanagami, but in a Malaysian setting.
